Our favorite disc jockey pops in!

We have met our fair share of culinary stars over the years. We had the greatest culinary icon ever, Julia Child, spend an hour in our shop. The one and only Alton Brown spent an entire day filming an episode in our shop. Yet it is the surprise guests, not in our field, who get us so excited. This past Friday, our favorite disc jockey IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD stopped into our Old Town Spice House.                                                       11-17-2008 years pics 421

Notice the halo around his head!

We were hosting two authors well know in the culinary literary world, Karen Page and Andrew Dornenburg. The event had been a great success and was winding down when we heard a very familiar voice.  Was that the voice of Lin Brehmer, our favorite disc jockey ever, booming through our shop? We were not the only ones in awe. Amazingly enough, our authors, who live in New York, claim that there is no radio station they enjoy as much as WXRT in New York and they listin to Lin streaming online in the mornings.  Once again, it proves a small world. If you want to listen to some real wit and humor check out this link to Lin’s Bin. We really enjoyed the bin about salt. AND, Lin’s first concert experience. Whodda thunk!
